Just celebrated Christmas Eve with my husband, my son who surprised me by coming home on leave from the military, and my daughter. I got to thinking about a few Christmas memories that have stayed with me, as I'm sure this one will, as I was so overjoyed by the surprise visit from my son who I didn't expect to see until next June. I'm sure many others have experienced those times during past holidays where something occurred that made that specific Christmas, Christmas Eve, or whatever you celebrate this time of year something you will never ever forget. One of the Christmas memories that I never forgot happened when I was six years old. Very early on Christmas morning we had a really bad chimney fire. When the fire department arrived, all the firemen were joking about Santa Claus possibly being stuck in the chimney. Then, even my parents started laughing. I still strongly believed in Santa Claus and couldn't understand how they could see this situation as comical. I was crying inside and full of sadness that possibly this may have actually happened. I really was sincerely worried Santa had gotten burned up in our chimney! I welcome others to share Christmas or other holiday experiences that most stand out in your minds.
